He soon finds himself embroiled in a mystery with a gothic flair that is more Jane Eyre or Wuthering Heights than traditional Austenian. Some reviewers expressed dissatisfaction with the second book in Aidan’s trilogy and, if they wished to experience more interaction with Lizzy Bennett in it, that would have led to disappointment.
In truth the second half of this book was very exciting dwseo the mystery and other events that happened.

This particular book is a bizarre romp into desoe strange and not entirely realistic intersection between the gritty underworld of the British upper class circa and strange Irish occult practices performed by an Irish Revolutionary Darcy as a rich socialite by day and Sherlock Holmes by night.
But mine advice, skip the second book. The author does give Darcy another love intersect and thought that was likely that he would try to meet someone else to get over Elizabeth. So, my suggestion may be to read the 1st and 3rd and skip this one debef. Some people I have heard didn’t like the mystery or Gothic theme of the second half of the book but I am not one of their number. Additionally the host is quickly seber the way to a stupendous bankruptcy, there’s a pervading mystery, a mob, and a dangerously beautiful woman who may be exactly what Darcy pa,ela to forget Miss Bennett.
This author’s account of where he went and what he did strays very far from the tone and style of Austin’s story.
This is a completly new story of his time trying to get over Elizabeth and I absolutly loved it. Jan 23, Lori rated it it was amazing. Darcy leaves his sister shortly after Christmas to get over Elizabeth by actively hunting for a wife. This encompassed the time when Mr. I understood the ideas I was so excited to read this book after aian the first, but I found myself disappointed: After a short time of infatuation with a young lady, the events take a tragic turn for the party.
I understood the ideas that Aidan was trying to get across, but I didn’t like the way that she did it. The third and final chapter of this trilogy has a great deal to atone for to make me forget this book!

Desfo About Duty and Desire Aida BennetFitzwilliam Darcy. The story picks up where Mr. She was astute and caring. It is very clear that they have a great respect for each other. Religion plays a bigger role as the novel progresses. I found it quite interesting and worth reading.

Oct 19, Marian rated it it was ok. Darcy left with Mr. She imagines what Darcy did between leaving Hertfordshire after the Netherfield ball and visiting Rosings and his Aunt Catherine. Refresh and try again. I am deeply disappointed.
Duty and Desire
If you are reading this review and have not read book 1 or the orginal book Pride and Prejudice don’t read this review as it debdr have spoilers. Pamela Aidan grew up in small towns outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Unlike other reviewers, I did enjoy the exchanges between Darcy and his valet, who was quite an entertaining character, but I agree that their relationship seemed unrealistic, contrived, and out of place. Initally I hadn’t even meant to read the sequel but am actually glad I picked this up.
This means social engagements with school chums, and vying debutantes of his social class, of which he’s become completely put off by in his years out in the social hub bub of London. Not only do we not encounter any of the B Ummm And if he did happen to dener himself in that situation, he would certainly have extricated himself more quickly and with better grace than he was able to here.
He is a Darcy!
