FULL TILT by Neal Shusterman | Kirkus Reviews
February 28, at This book made me feel the feeling of xhusterman, desperation and brotherly love. What happens when you are suddenly pulled away from the real world, and plunged into a carnival where your soul can be claimed?
Without asking she gives him a bear which hold an invitation to the ride of his life. What’s the Name o The thing is, Blake and his friends should do 7 rides before dawn or they will be stucked and be part of the carnival forever. It was so freaky all the way through, a thrill to and I loved it all the way, it was just amazingly awesome.
There’s another dimension to Blake’s world, commanded by an entity with far more on its mind than showing Blake a good time at an amusement park. I even read it right away because I couldn’t choose what book to read next.
Apr 08, Aaron rated it really liked it Recommends it for: Most haunting of all is the “survivor guilt” he’s been dealing with, ever since he survived a bus crash in which everyone else was killed. Quinn is his brother’s opposite — a thrill-seeker who’s always chasing the next scary rush, no matter what the cost. The only problem I found out in this book is Shusterman gives no justice at the ending of this book.
And in his luck he wins.
His brother appears and disappears as well, and in one ride they discover that they need to work together. This was really different and cool and was a quick good read for anyone looking for something I finished this book a couple of hours ago and started reading it a couple hours ago In a book that moves like one of the roller coasters it describes, a teenage boy must face a series of tests that represent his deepest fears in order to save his brother.
This book changed my life. To see what your friends thought of this book, please sign up.
It doesn’t take more than the first few pages of Full Tilt to see that this is the case, as the two of them, along shustermn Blake’s friend Russ and Russ’s girlfriend, Maggie, go adventuring at a tillt park near their home. That carnival is a definition of creepy as well. We’re able to identify with the characters because their realistic struggles, not the outside dangers from a world of paranormal death, tether our lives closely together. Well they are at six flags and Blake is scared of big type rides.
In the end, this is a book that actually has to be read for one to come across all of tull many revelations, so many personal epiphanies waiting to be discovered that it’s hard to think back on exactly how one felt about these matters before reading Full Tilt.
Anyway, it’s okay since after finishing the novel I was satisfied on what this book made me feel. He overcomes his fears while watching his friends get lost within themselves.
As for Maggie and Riss, they thought their love was true, but Definitely one of my favorite books! It showed that fears are there to hinder nfal but there is always a shustterman out fulk of these fears. Is there any sexual content or foul language? Conclusion would be, don’t trust Buzzfeed, or at least lower down your expectations. I could’ve easily hated this for being too YA, but I didn’t, and I won’t.
It’s hard to find anything, anywhere, that rises to the astounding heights of artistic achievement reached by these books, because Neal Shusterman has elevated the art of writing to heights met only rarely, if ever, in the history of the English language. This is a really well-crafted book that kept me on the edge of my seat.
He also writes screenplays for motion pictures and television shows. Fult Tilt ful one of his earlier novels and my 12th book of him.
I just felt awkard through the entire book because I wasn’t getting the point of it. Aug 18, Evelina rated it really liked it.
The main plot revolves around a kid named Blake, who is going off to college at an Ivy League school. Nonetheless, Cassandra’s character hasn’t been delved into but I thought sometimes, something needs to remain as a mystery.
Jul 26, Will M. Books by Neal Shusterman. Because that’s the one that confronts Blake with a terrifying secret from his past — a secret he’s been running from for years. Like all Shusterman’s characters, all the characters in this book are fascinating.
Full tilt is about 16 year old, name Blake, who is at the begging a chump or self conscious. Fortunately although that could be coolthis book goes beyond that to explore its characters, or at least its protagonist, in more depth. Blake would certainly never accept the invitation to a midnight ride offered by the icily attractive Cassandra, a mysterious figure he encounters at Six Flags. I read this one for the Creepy Carnivals square: Except when they’re trying to steal your soul.
I finished this book a couple of hours ago and started reading it a couple hours ago I didn’t have any expectations but it was a pointless read.
A guy has to save someone in a world full of his fears. So you know it had to have been good.
