At first I had a really hard time getting into the story.
I found this book a little hard to get into at first but all of a sudden I found myself engrossed in the story and desperate to see what would happen to Terry next.
His small stature and effeminate appearance make him the target of bullies and the unwanted attention of a wealthy stranger who lurks outside his dressing room after practice. You’re hoping, you’re crossing your fingers, you want this kid to survive and in the end you know this kid is going to survive.
Every word in this book, when woven together with Victor’s delicious talent and skillful pen had the power and the cap Terry’s story of his transformation into Lola Valdez was so heartbreakingly beautiful that I was hooked from the first page until the last one.
